Julie Klunk Gillis, Ph.D.
I am a clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy. I specialize in working with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, anxiety, and depression. In addition, I have significant experience providing therapy for individuals navigating significant life transitions, grappling with big decisions, and increasing motivation for making difficult changes.
I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral approach to help people reach their goals. Therapy starts with understanding each person's unique needs and hopes for treatment. We then collaboratively develop a treatment plan that is used as a road map to reach those goals.
My approach is warm, honest, and direct. Although making changes in therapy is difficult, I provide a non-judgmental space to explore what brought you to therapy and how best to address your needs.
I am an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine and the Program Manager of the PTSD clinic at the Brockton campus of the VA Boston Healthcare System. I have extensive experience working with veterans, first responders, and others who have experienced trauma. If you feel we'd be a good fit, please reach out to discuss working together.
